About
A message from Tommaso Palumbo
Dear Reader,
Whatever the reasons you are here now, here are a few basic things I would like you to know about me.
I was born in Bari, Puglia, the heel of the Italian peninsula and moved to London (UK) in 1994.
I am a man with a clear and simple mission: to help people lead healthier and happier lives.
I have twenty years of experience in helping individuals and couples and have worked with a wide range of clients:
every client is different and every solution is personalised and I firmly believe that it’s never too late to learn
how to be happier in your personal life and relationships, or enjoy success and fulfilment in your career.
I wasn’t born a therapist and I know what it means to live and work in the real world:
I possess a background in Law & Finance and a professional experience gained both in the public and private sectors,
at different hierarchical levels, working with people from all walks of life.
I follow the teachings of Albert Ellis, one of the most eminent psychologists of all times,
and I have trained with Deanne Jade, one of the UK’s leading experts in eating disorders,
and with Prof. Stephen Palmer, psychologist notable for his contribution to the treatment of stress.
In June 1991, I founded Phemiology and, in January 2000, I created its practical application:
the Six Elements Approach, which is an integration of humanistic integrative counselling,
Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
I have practised and taught meditation for the past twenty-five years and, in May 2005,
I have created my own Active Meditation routine: "Peaceflow".
which is an integration of deep breathing, visualisation and gentle body movements.
I am a Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS),
an Accredited Counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP),
a former Director of the UK’s National Centre for Eating Disorders,
and a Fellow of the American Academy of experts in Traumatic Stress.
I send over to you my best wishes for you personal and professional life!
